I’m Caroline, the founder of The French Garden Designer, a friendly, down-to-earth garden design practice based in East Dulwich, South-East London. Originally from France, London has been my home now for almost 20 years.
I create ecologically thoughtful, sustainable gardens that are both beautiful and practical. Whether you’re looking to unwind, entertain, reconnect with nature or make the most of your outdoor space as a family, I’ll help you bring that vision to life.
Before becoming a garden designer, I spent over a decade as a marketing and project manager in the fast-paced world of media and tech. That experience taught me how to manage complexity, work with diverse teams, and find practical solutions: all skills I now bring to my design practice. Over time, I felt a strong pull to return to something more grounded: to slow down, reconnect with nature, and work with my hands. This led me to retrain in Garden Design at Capel Manor College in Regent’s Park.
My design process is rooted in listening and understanding your needs. I focus on creating spaces that feel good to be in: balanced, inviting, and alive!
I work with reliable landscapers and use quality materials, ethical practices, and plant combinations that are both attractive and reliable with seasonal interest.
I believe gardens are for people and for nature: places to pause, play, gather, and grow.
